Annabeth Gish To Return As Monica Reyes In Revived The X-Files

Annabeth Gish, who starred as Monica Reyes in the final two seasons of the original series of
The X-Files is set to return in the new six-part X-Files revival.

Gish appeared in 23 episodes in seasons eight and nine of the original show when David Duchovny as Fox Mulder had gone AWOL, Gillian Anderson was pretty much a part-timer and Robert Patrick was playing Agent Doggett.

Gish joins returning stars Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, Mitch Pileggi and William B Davis. Guest-stars on the show include Robbie Amell (The Flash), Lauren Ambrose, Joel McHale (Community), Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby and Kumail Nanjiani.

There’s had been no news on whether Robert Patrick might be making a return too, though according to an interview he gave The Mary Sue recently, it seems unlikely: “I’ll set the record straight with youI’m not going to do it. …I’m very happy with the job I have. I’m on CBS – that’s a different network – and I’m content and happy and I don’t really see a reason to go and revisit that show. It’s not that I wouldn’t be interested… I just don’t know what the reason is do to both at the same time.”

The X-Files returns to US screens on 24 January 2016. No UK broadcaster has been announced as yet. But the truth is out there.
