Rutina Wesley’s Arrow Role Revealed

lady_cop_coverYesterday we told you that True Blood star Rutina Wesley – she played Tara on the vampire show – has been cast in season four of Arrow. Now The Hollywood Reporter has revealed details of her role.

Wesley, who has recently been seen in Hannibal, will play a character called Liza Warner in a multi-episode arc. In the DC comic book world, Liza Warner is a police officer also known as Lady Cop. She was a very minor character who’s only ever appeared in three issues – toplining her own story in 1st Issue Special #4 in 1975 before making two appearances in All-New Atom #6 and #11. She had photographic memory and was created by  Robert Kanigher and John Rosenberger.

In Arrow she’s going to be a member of an anti-vigilante task force.

Wesley joins other recently-announced additions to Arrow for the next season such as Teen Wolf’s JR Bourne as the villain Double Down, Captain America The First Avenger’s Neal McDonough as the villain Damien Darhk, Echo Kellum as Mr Terrific, Alexander Calvert as Anarky, Sanctuary’s Ryan Robbins as Conklin and Parker Young as Alex Davis.

Arrow returns to US screens on 7 October, and will air in the UK on Sky 1 shortly afterwards.
