Currently riding high on the worldwide success of Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow has been confirmed as the director of Star Wars Episode IX at the Star Wars presentation at Disney’s D23 event.
Trevorrow follows JJ Abrams on Episode VII and Rian Johnson (Looper) on Episode VIII. Before Jurassic World, Trevorrow was best know for directing Safety Not Guaranteed (2012). The as-yet-unnamed Episode VIII will be released in 2019.
D23 also unveiled a new poster for Episode VII by legendary Star Wars artist Drew Struzan. [via /Film]
