• Warner Bros is planning a lavish movie version of Dante’s Inferno, based on the first section of Dante Alighieri’s 14th century epic poem, The Divine Comedy. [via Deadline]

Supernatural creator Erik Kripke, so long a mainstay at Warners TV, has signed a new development deal with Sony TV. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

• Russia is the latest country to announce a special cinema 3D screening of Doctor Who’s series eight two-part finale, plus the special series nine interview and filmed interview with Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman by “Big Bang Theory Actor” Wil Wheaton (their choice of show). And sill no sign of it in the UK. [via Doctor Who news]

• Dwayne Johnson is set to star in a live-action Disney film based on its theme park attraction Jungle Cruise. Soon they’ll be making films out of the food stalls. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

• Fox is developing a TV series based on the Boom! graphic novel Protocol Orphans co-created by actor Peter Facinelli. Amanda Segel (Person Of Interest) is adaptation the material. It’s about a foster family of orphans who are trained by the US government as covert operatives, protecting their country during the day and battling each other at night. [via Deadline]

Lost co-showrunner Damon Lindelof, currently in charge of The Leftovers (which is a TV show, he’s not making bubble and squeak) reveals his love for Game Of Thrones season five episode “Hardhome” and speaks a little about the criticism that George RR Martin gave the Lost finale: “There is a schadenfreude aspect of me saying, ‘Well, I kind of hope Game Of Thrones sucks at the end, too, so they’ll know it feels to have somebody say that to you.’ But I don’t think the Lost finale sucks. And I want Game Of Thrones to end awesome, because I’m a huge fan and I have every reason to believe that it is going to end awesomely.” And Kudos to Winter Is Coming for drawing this parallel:
