Spectre Bond Girl Being Lined Up For X-Men: Gambit Role

Léa Seydoux, who we’ll be seeing soon as Madeleine Swann in Bond movie Spectre, is in negotiations to star in X-Men spin-off movie Gambit, starring Channing Tatum. Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) is set to direct the film.

Although the deal has yet to be finalised, were Seydoux to accept the role, she would be playing Bella, the head of an assassins’ guild, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Seydoux is also known for is known for her work in Mission Impossible: Ghost ProtocolBlue Is The Warmest Color, The Grand Budapest Hotel and Saint Laurent.

Gambit has a script by Josh Zetumer based on a treatment by Gambit co-creator and X-Men comics scribe legend Chris Claremont. Channing Tatum will be the second actor to bring Gambit to life on the big screen. Taylor Kitsch payed the Cajun mutant who can charge objects with kinetic energy (his favoured items being playing cards) in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He was actually pretty good, but after John Carter and Battleship Kitsch’s box office pulling power is, sadly, virtually non-existent, so Tatum takes over to give the film some star attraction.

Gambit is due for release in the States on 7 Oct 2016.
