30 Days Of Night Director For TV Version Of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods

American_gods_coverDavid Slade, who directed 30 Days Of Night and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse as well as defining the visual style of the Hannibal TV series, will be reuniting with Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller to helm the pilot for the TV version of Neil Gaiman’s novel American Gods, reports Deadline.

As with Hannibal Slade will also serve as an executive producer on American Gods and is expected to direct several other episodes as well. Bryan Fuller (also known for Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies) and Michael Green are acting as showrunners on the series which is scheduled to debut on Starz in the US 2017.

Neil Gaiman himself is reported to be writing some of the scripts for the series, which concerns a road trip across American that’s beset by problems from bickering gods. The book, which was published in 2001, won Hugo and Nebula awards.
