••• Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier in the MCU, tells We Got This Covered that we can expect some new kinds of action sequences in Captain America: Civil War: “Some brutal fighting – some serious, serious fighting like you haven’t really seen before in any of the other films. Which I’m really proud to say. And a whole lot of character and heart, because there’s a lot of people that are in the film, but you’re going to get a lot of character from everybody.”

••• Despite reports earlier this week, Guillermo del Toro tells ScreenCrush that Pacific Rim 2 is not a dead project as far as he’s concerned: “It’s still going. I don’t think it will be my next movie, though. It was postponed. We’re working on the budget. We’re working on the screenplay. And I think the need was to send a budget and screenplay that fit. Once that is done, we’ll know if it goes or not. For the moment, it’s not canceled.”

••• And in another rebuttal, Mark Hamill took to Twitter utterly deny that he nearly died while filming Star Wars Episode VIII last week. The Sunday Times claimed that he’d nearly plummeted to his death after after losing his footing on the steps of Skellig Michael – only to be saved by a local guide. Rubbish, Tweets Hamill. ••• Thora Birch (American Beauty) has joined the cast of the USA network’s upcoming sci-fi series Colony, which premieres on 14 January 2016 in the States. The show, which is executive produced by Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Leftovers) and Ryan Condal, is set in near-future Los Angeles under occupation. [via Deadline]

••• Here’s the cinematic opening for Starcraft II: Legacy Of The Void. Enjoy.

••• Tessa Thompson (Dear White People) has joined the cast of HBO’s stylish-looking Westworld remake as Charlotte Hale, a mysterious and savvy provocateur with a unique perspective on Westworld. Described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin, Westworld has been reinvented by Jonathan Nolan (Dark Knight trilogy) and JJ Abrams (Lost, Star Trek) based on the 1973 film by writer-director Michael Crichton. ••• Iain Glen (Game Of Thrones), Shawn Roberts (Edge Of Darkness), Ruby Rose (Orange Is The New Black), Eoin Macken (BBC’s Merlin) and William Levy have all joined the cast of the (allegedly) final Resident Evil film. [via Deadline]

••• The executive producer behind the Sleepy Hollow TV series, Phillip Iscove is now developing a small screen adaptation HG Wells’s The Island Of Doctor Moreau. If it’s anything like his adaptation of Washington Irving’s The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow it probably won’t resemble the original novel too much… [via The Hollywood Reporter]
