Pride And Prejudice And Zombies Author Poised To Direct The Flash Movie

Move aside, Marvel. When it comes to left field choices for directing superhero movies, Warners and DC have just trounced you. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Seth Grahame-Smith, the author of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash movie.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the duo behind The Lego Movie, have already written one treatment and they were in the frame as directors until the Star Wars universe came calling (they’re directing the Han Solo anthology movie). Now Smith will be doing a rewrite. To introduce werewolves, presumably.

Graham-Smith has been dabbling in film and TV so it’s not like he’s a total novice, but this will be his feature film directing debut. He’s directed episodes of The Hard Times Of RJ Berger, an MTV comedy he co-created, plus he’s been involved in the scripts for Dark Shadows, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and The Lego Batman Movie.

The Flash is pencilled in for a 3 March 2018 release date with Ezra Miller starring as the Scarlet Speedster. He’ll be introduced in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice next year and will also feature in Justice League Part 1 in the summer of 2017.
