Batman V Superman’s Lex Luthor Goes Viral

The viral marketing for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is ramping up already, even though the film isn’t out until 25 March in the UK. Not only does Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) now have his own Twitter account (he’s proving to be no Stephen Fry in terms of volume yet, though) but he’s also been giving interviews to famous financial outlet Fortune Magazine.

The life-spanning profile suggests the film’s version of Luthor –  “a 31-year-old wunderkind who transformed an ageing petrochemical and heavy machinery dinosaur into a tech darling of the Fortune 500” – will combine elements the classic Superman villain and the Crisis On Infinite Earths Alexander Luthor, the son of Lex Luthor and Lois Lane from Earth-Three.

“Dad named the company after himself ten years before I made my unexpected entrance into his life,” he explains. “But investors seemed to respond to the idea of an adoring father building a legacy for his precious son. He used that to his advantage. It was a good shtick and, whatever else he was, he was a good businessman.”

The article also states that Lex Luthor Sr died unexpectedly in 2000, and also namechecks Wayne Enterprises and Kord Industries.

Ominously Luthor also warns: “Statistically speaking, it’s a near certainty that another world-changing crisis is hurtling toward us like a speeding bullet… We are on the cusp of unveiling a technology that will change the world forever.”
