Slipknot Singer To Make Doctor Who A Roaring Success

This coming Saturday’s episode of Doctor Who, “Before The Flood” is set to be a roaring success… on one level at least. Because the big bad monster of the episode, The Fisher King, will be having screams and bellows provided by Slipknot singer and Doctor Who fan Corey Taylor.

While the Fisher King’s voice is being provided by comedian and voice of Darth Maul Peter Serafinowicz, Taylor has been brought in to provide the more extreme vocal effects.

According to the BBC, Taylor, a big Doctor Who fan, was delighted to help make the Fisher King extra scary by recording roars and screams. He describes the experience as “awesome” and took time out to visit the TARDIS (above) during his time at the BBC’s Roath Lock Studios.

“We needed an awesome roar for the Fisher King,” producer Derek Ritchie explained. ‘We asked Corey if he might like to do the honours… He was completely up for it! He has one of the most well-known screams in the history of music. We now have the most incredible roar for our incredible monster! He now sounds as terrifying as he looks!”
