BUZZ News Shorts: X-Men Apocalypse, Harry Potter, Deadpool & More


••• Evan Peters has revealed a little bit about Quicksilver’s involvement in X-Men: Apocalypse to Details: “The story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world… It’s the biggest X-Men film. It’s about the apocalypse, so the scope of the film is huge.” In the comics, of course, Magneto is Quicksilver’s dad.

••• Warner Bros has revealed the official logo for their upcoming Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s a bit like a Harry Potter logo, but shaggier. Which makes sense.


••• Ryan Reynolds has released a video called “How Deadpool Spent Halloween”. Which seems to be trying to assemble his own superteam from kids in costume…

••• Ralph Fiennes has been cast as the voice of Alfred Pennyworth in the Lego Batman movie. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• The Lobster, a quirky indie film starring Colin Farrell as a man who may turn into a lobster if he doesn’t find true love (see the trailer here), has has picked up the biggest haul of nominations for this year’s British Independent Film Awards: seven, including for best British independent film, best director, best screenplay and producer of the year, with Colin Farrell up for best actor and Olivia Colman and Ben Whishaw for their supporting roles.  [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• According to The Wrap, Relativity’s reboot of The Crow is moving forward with production to begin in March 2016 and Corin Hardy (The Hallow) attached to direct — making the film Relativity’s first project post-bankruptcy shenanigans.
