A Very Small Doctor Who Could Make The Big Screen… In Lego Form

Could the Doctor be about to make his first movie appearance since he looked like Peter Cushing in the two mid-’6o Doctor Who Dalek films? Not headlining his own movie, though, but as a Lego plastic minifig in the The Lego Movie Sequel (2018).

According to the movie’s director  Rob Schrab, it could well happen.

Speaking on Harmontown Podcast (via /Film) Schrab said that talks are already underway between Warner Bros and the BBC to include the Doctor in the next Lego Movie. Don’t get too excited, though… it’s bound to be just a cameo.

The Doctor is, of course, a key character in Lego Dimensions, the first Doctor Who pack being released this week. The game makes use of a whole load of different incarnations of the Time Lord, so it would be fun if the film did too (it’d be great to see Eleven’s drunk giraffe dance). On the other hand, Schrab only says that there are “talks” taking place. It may never happen.

The Daleks, of course, have already made another feature film appearance since those ’60s films, in Looney Tunes: Back In Action, so the Doctor needs to catch up.
