Miguel_Ferrer••• According to Deadline,  Miguel Ferrer is set to reprise his role as FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield from the original series in the new Twin Peaks, set to debut in 2017. Officially, however, Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper) is still the only officially confirmed returnee, although David Patrick Kelly is expected to be reprising his role as Jerry Horne, Richard Beymer rumoured to be returning as Jerry’s brother Benjamin and Sheryl Lee has actually been snapped by photographers on set.

••• Hit-Girl Chloë Moretz (you may also know her from Let Me In and Hugo) is set to star in Universal’s live-action film version Little Mermaid film. Richard Curtis (Four Weddings And A Funeral) is in talks to write the script based on the the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale. ••• Former co-chairperson of Sony, Ann Pascal, has bought the film rights to a Gamergate memoir set to be published next year, Crash Override: How to Save the Internet from Itself by Zoe Quinn. Quinn is the independent video game developer who was targeted online when a blog post by her ex-boyfriend went viral, sparking the widely-discussed Gamergate controversy. Let’s hope it really pisses off all the people you’d liked to be pissed off by it. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• Johnny Depp is set to play Sherlock Gnomes. No, hang on, this isn’t a very early April Fool’s. Sherlock Gnomes is Paramount Animation and MGM’s sequel to surprise hit Gnomeo & Juliet (2011) and everybody’s favourite Caribbean pirate will be voicing the lead role. [via]
