Snowpiercer TV Series In Development

While not nearly enough people have seen director Bong Joon-ho’s 2013 Korean sci-fi thriller Snowpiercer those that have tend to rave about it. With good reason. The action-packed post-apocalyptic masterpiece starring Chris Evans is set on a massive train containing the remnant of humanity that continually circles the ice-caked globe is a compelling piece of filmmaking. It was based on a series of graphic novels created by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette (and continued by Benjamin Legrand after Lob’s death) recently re-issued by Titan Books.

Now, it seems, Snowpiercer could be heading for the small screen.

According to Deadline, Marty Adelstein’s Tomorrow Studios has optioned the rights to develop Snowpiercer as a TV series. Josh Friedman (Avatar 3, War Of The Worlds) is attached to write the adaptation. Bong and Dooho Choi will executive produce alongside Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein & Becky Clements as well as Friedman.

Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios, produces Last Man Standing and Aquarius.
