Game Of Thrones Season 6 Teaser: No New Footage But A New Voice

HBO has released a teaser trailer Game Of Thrones that’s more intriguing than it first looks. Because it’s not how it looks (it’s edited together from existing footage, stretching back to season one) but how it sounds that’s the key: it features a new monologue by Max Von Sydow, the actor who’s now playing the three-eyed raven (having taken over from Struan Rodger). Which has lead fans to speculate that that whole teaser is a visual representation of Bran Stark (remember him? He was MIA during season five) being taught how to be a greenseer – a mystic who can see into the past, present, and future of Westeros by peering through the eyes of the weirwood trees. Fans who’ve read the books will know all this the most recent novel in the series, A Dance With Dragons.

“We watch. We listen, and we remember. The past is already written. The ink is dry,” says the 30/20 vision Raven in the trailer, as the producers – as with the recently released poster – yet again tease us with images of Jon Snow – it’s like they’re really trying to wind up fans about his rumoured resurrection.

However: “They have no idea what is going to happen,” says Bran at the end of the teaser. Maybe the show’s producers are stoking the rumour only to pull off something else entirely?
