Kevin Sorbo Reteams With Hercules Producers For Miracle Man Series

kevin_sorboThe Hercules: The Legendary Journeys star Kevin Sorbo is to reteam with Hercules/Xena producers Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert for a new NBC show called Miracle Man. About a man. Who can do miracles. There’s a clue in the name. And no it has nothing to do with the Alan Moore comic character. He was completely different. There was no space between the “Miracle” and the “man” for a start.

Sorbo will star and executive produce the project which chronicles the post-military life of Jason Greene (Sorbo), a decorated Army Ranger who’s nearly killed in Afghanistan. discharged and returns home to a wife who’s left him and an adult son he barely knows. Oh, and he also has a special power now – he can perform small miracles that have a big impact on people’s lives.

The series has been created by Robert Eisele who scripted the movies The Great Debaters, starring and directed by Denzel Washington, and Hurricane Season, starring Forest Whitaker and Taraji P Henson.

Raimi and Tapert are also developing a reboot of Xena: Warrior Princess for NBC. Maybe that’s why their doing this project with Sorbo, to stop him going into a sulk because nobody wants to reboot Hercules. (Then again, after two flop movies in a year, nobody would be in a rush to produce anything with name Hercules in the title (#TarnishedMythicalBrand).
