••• Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, who are part of the writing team currently plotting the future of the Transformers franchise and who previously did re-write work on Ant-Man, have signed on to co-write the script for Ant-Man and The Wasp. Paul Rudd and Adam McKay (Anchorman) will also have a hand in drafting the script. ••• Rumour Of The Day: Deadline reckons that Luther star Idris Elba will be playing the Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, in the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower. Matthew McConaughey is in talks to play the villain, the Man in Black, while Nikolaj Arcel (the writer of the Swedish version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) is directing.

••• Here’s the great poster for Kubo And The Two Strings, the next  stop-motion animation film from Laika, the company behind Coraline, ParaNorman and The Boxtrolls. With an original screenplay by Marc Haimes and Chris Butler (ParaNorman) the film is described as a sweeping, swashbuckling adventure set in a mythical ancient Japan. Scruffy, kindhearted Kubo ekes out a humble living while devotedly caring for his mother in their sleepy shoreside village. Then a spirit from the past catches up with him to enforce an age-old vendetta. Suddenly on the run from gods and monsters, Kubo’s chance for survival rests on finding the magical suit of armor once worn by his fallen father, the greatest samurai the world has ever known.
