Ridley Scott Promises Lots Of Familiar Aliens In Alien: Covenant

Disappointed with the lack of Giger-style aliens in Prometheus? Then have no fear. Or a lot of fear. Or something. It’s seems that the next film in Ridley Scott’s prequel series will justify the shift in naming from Prometheus 2 to Alien: Covenant (via Alien Paradise Lost and Operation: Piss Off Neill Blomkamp… erm, possibly). According to Ridley Scott in an interview with The Wrap, “We’ll have them all… Egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.”

Alien: Covenant begins with the colony ship Covenant arriving at a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. It seems to be an uncharted paradise, but it’s actually a dark, dangerous world apparently inhabited only by the android David (Michael Fassbender) from Prometheus.

Scott reveals more about the planet: “They’re going to go to the planet where the engineers came from and come across the evolving creature that they had made. Why did they make it? Why would they make such a terrifying beast? It felt bio-mechanoid, it felt like a weapon. And so the movie will explain that, and reintroduce the alien back into it.”

Alien: Covenant, with a script by Jack Paglen (Transcendence) and Michael Green (Green Lantern) is set to be released in the UK on 6 October 2017.
