Doctor Strange Set Photo Reveals What Could Be The Sanctum Sanctorum

Marvel co-president Marvel Louis D’Esposito has Tweeted a photo of himself alongside director Scott Derrickson and executive producer Stephen Broussard on one of the sets for Doctor Strange. Apparently Benedict Cumberbatch was just round the corner but in he was in costume at the time so he wasn’t allowed in the shot!

EyeofagamottoThe door in the background is emblazoned with the Seal of the Vishanti, so the smart money is on this being the Sanctum Sanctorum, Doctor Strange’s mystical base. However, the arcane-looking object in front of the door could be the Eye of Agamotto, which became part of an amulet that Doctor Strange wears in the comics; as it’s not round his neck in the picture, maybe this is the home of Doctor Strange’s mentor, The Ancient One, who bequeaths it to Strange in the movie? What do you reckon?

Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins and Mads Mikkelsen is set for release in the UK on 28 October 2016.
