Donny_preacher••• Derek Wilson’s character Donny Schenck has been promoted to series regular on AMC’s Preacher after the show’s bosses were impressed by the character in the show’s pilot. Schenck is a Civil War re-enactor and abusive thug who gets into altercations with Jesse Custer (the Preacher, played by Dominic Cooper) but who nevertheless shows up to church on Sundays. He appears to be beating his meek wife, Betsy, but things may not be as they seem. He is not a character from the original comics.

••• Here’s a new trailer for Vikings season four for your viewing pleasure.

••• Marvel movie boss Kevin Feige has been telling Empire that Thor: Ragnarok is going to be a very different movie to its two predecessors. “It’s going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we’ve got new characters that will show how big we’re swinging on this. And we have a Hulk… The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Krang-1987-Series-TMNT-Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-e1362592822991••• Krang, one of the supervillains from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, cartoons and games who has yet to make his big screen debut, will, it seems, be appearing in TMNT2. Krang is a disembodied brain with a face and tentacles who is housed in a robot body (not to be confused with the Marvel supervillain Krang, who has the same name but a different look or MODOK who has a different name but a similar look). Confirmation of Krang’s involvement came in a Rolling Stone feature in which with Pablo Helman, a visual effects supervisor, shows TMNT2 producer Michael Bay a version of Krang. “So we’ve eliminated the tentacles,” Helman explains. “Is it too monster-ish?” “He could have some tentacles,” says Bay. “I just don’t want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus.” [via]
