••• Danish actress Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, The Good Wife – pictured right) has been cast as Wonder Woman’s mother and the queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta, for the upcoming Wonder Woman film. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• Fox has announced a new Prison Break event series that will reunite original series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. ••• FOX has confirmed that it has ordered a second season of  Scream Queens during its Television Critics Association (TCA) panel. Another show from the Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk hit factory (“Glee,” “American Horror Story”) Scream Queens season two will graduate from the college campus and into an all-new location: a hospital, where some of the most fascinating and bizarre medical cases are under observation.

••• The Simpsons creator Matt Groening is developing a potential new animated comedy for Netflix, but Deadline has no further details than that at the moment.

••• Chris Carter revealed at TCA winter tour that he’s interested in producing additional The X-Files miniseries. “I’m waiting for Fox to say we want more of these,” he said.Gary Newman, co-chairman of Fox Television, indicated that he might be interested, as long as the stars – and schedules – align. “The biggest impediment to going forward with The X-Files was the schedules of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson… Even the other night at the premiere, we were all laughing and joking about doing this again.”

••• Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the second half of The Walking Dead season six, series creator Robert Kirkman promises that the new baddie, to be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is really going to shake things up: “Negan is kind of an atomic bomb that’s going to be dropped on the show and the show will probably never be the same after that. So buckle up, I guess?”
