More Daryl In Second Half Of The Walking Dead Season 6 Promises Norman Reedus

The rather radical and fractured approach to storytelling in the first half of season six of The Walking Dead produced some great, great drama and some extraordinary episodes in their own right. However, for fans of particular characters – or, indeed, the central ensemble of characters – the fact that some favourites, such as Daryl, would be absent for multiple episodes proved frustrating. Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl, shares your frustration, but he says it was for the greater good and don’t worry, there’s a lot more of Daryl in the second half of season six.

“We’ll definitely have a steadier dose [of Daryl],” Reedus tells EW. “I look at what they’re doing, and I look at the storylines, and they all completely make sense to me.

“I know the story we’re trying to tell up to a certain extent, and there are a lot of characters, and I trust [showrunner Scott Gimple’s] writing, and I trust his vision for where we’re going. Yeah, it’s a little hard to sit on the sidelines. Days I didn’t work, I’d go to the set and just watch other people work, but it’s definitely difficult just because I miss everybody and I love doing that job, so that makes it a little hard.”
