BumblebeeHIRESUPDATE: Okay, new information has come to light about the Transformers releases (see original story below). Turns out the middle film, the 2018 release, is a Bumblebee spin-off movie and the 2019 release will be Transformers 6 not 7.

Coming Soon reports that Tom Warner, the Transformers franchise leader for Hasbro, revealed this new info while speaking on an investor conference call for Toy Fair.

“This summer we worked closely with a talented team of A-list screenwriters to map out the future of the Transformers cinematic universe, and as Brian announced earlier, things kick off in a major way in 2017 with the release of Transformers 5 in June. And we’re working on a spin-off movie centered around Bumblebee for 2018 and the next chapter for 2019.”

ORIGINAL STORY BELOW:

Transformers are relentless, and so, it seems, are the release dates for the forthcoming Transformers movies. The next three films – that’s Transformers 5, 6 and 7 – will be released on an annual basis in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

These films are the fruits of the “Transformers writers room” that Paramount created under the leadership of Akiva Goldsman (Batman And Robin, Lost In Space, The Da Vince Code) to plan out the future of the franchise and any character spin-off films (an animated “origin story” film set on the Transformers’ home world, Cybertron, is also in development).

Transformers 5, which will be directed once again by Michael Bay and once again starMark Wahlberg, is scheduled for a 23 June 2017 release. Then Transformers 6 will arrive on 8 June 2018 with Transformers 7 debuting on 28 June 2019.
