MCM Is New Owner Of YouTube Festival Summer In The City

Summer In The City, the UK’s foremost live event celebrating the online video community, has a new owner with an ambition to make it bigger and better than ever before.

MCM has acquired Summer In The City, which was founded in 2009 and is held at Excel London. Summer In The City celebrates the ever-expanding area of online video and the vibrant community that surrounds it, attracting content creators, their viewers and the wider entertainment industry.

Featuring panels, live performances and special guest meet-and-greets, Summer In The City is not only a great weekend of entertainment for YouTube fans, but also an ideal space for online video creators to engage with their viewers and each other. This year’s Summer In The City will take place on 12-14 August.

Here’s a flavour of what it’s all about…

MCM’s acquisition of Summer In The City follows the launch of its MCM Central brand earlier this year, designed to further expand and diversify the company’s portfolio of events. New shows debuting in 2016 include London videogames festival GamerMania, Midlands-based tabletop gaming event Strategy and MCM Comic Cons in Brussels and Hannover.
