BUZZ News Shorts: Supergirl, Dark Matter, Alien: Covenant, Thor & More

••• Stephen Amell has told IGN that he’d love for Oliver Queen to appear on Supergirl. “Sure! In this iteration of the DC Universe, the ‘Television Universe’ as it were, I’m the guy that’s been around the longest, so I always feel – whether I’m on a show or I’m not on a show – I always feel as though I can in some way, shape or form represent them. And I always want them to be wildly successful and last for many more years than we end up lasting, because I just want to see people have success. So I would love to go over to Supergirl. That would be a blast, if for no other reason than I miss shooting in Los Angeles.”

••• The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman and  Skybound Entertainment partner David Alpert are developing a series for South Korean television called Five Year about  family living under the threat of a meteor heading towards Earth. The first season will air on South Korean broadcast television, then be carried worldwide on Viki. “This has been a story I have wanted to tell for quite some time, but David and I wanted to make sure it found a proper home where it could grow and breathe creatively,” says Kirkman. “Looking at what Viki has done in not only the dramatic series space, but transforming the way viewers consume and translate media, we knew immediately Five Year had found its home.” [via ComicBookResources]

••• Speaking with Den of Geek, Stellan Skarsgard ( Dr Erik Selvig in Thor, Thor: The Dark World and both Avengers films) says he’s not returning for Thor: Ragnarok, but could make his way into Infinity War. “I have a five-film deal with them, and they still have one option,” he says. “Thor 3 is not on my slate, but maybe the next Avengers.”

••• Looks like we’ll have two Captain Nemo films coming out in the next few years. While director Bryan Singer has already confirmed that he’s taking a break from X-Men to direct a new adaptation of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, now comes news that another Marvel mutant director, James Mangold (The Wolverine) will be helming Disney’s Captain Nemo movie. Be prepared for a million “Finding Captain Nemo” headlines for the next few years.

••• Bones has been renewed for a twelfth and final season. The 12-episode run will bring the storylines of Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Booth (David Boreanaz) and the Jeffersonian-FBI team to a close.
