Starz has announced three more roles have been cast in its major TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, joining headliners Ian McShane as Mister Wednesday, Emily Browning as Laura Moon and Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon.
Yetide Badaki (Aquarius, Masters Of Sex) will play Bilquis, Sean Harris (The Borgias, Prometheus) will play Mad Sweeney and Bruce Langley (Deadly Waters) will play Technical Boy. The series will begin production next month.
Mad Sweeney is a down-on-his-luck leprechaun, who is having a hard time understanding how he lost his charm. Always up for a good fight, Sweeney is never left wanting while in the employment of Mr Wednesday. Bilquis is an ancient goddess of love who craves the worship she inspired in eras long gone, and who is eager to find that same relevance in today’s world. Technical Boy is a New God who is purveyor of all things technology. Desperate to prove himself, and hungry for respect and power, he struggles to keep his impulsiveness and petulance in check, making him dangerously unpredictable.
