The release date for Blade Runner 2 has moved, as we’re now going to see it sooner than we expected.
Alcon Entertainment has announced that the sequel will now be released on 6 October 2017 rather than 12 January 12 2018. After a 36 year wait a few months barely makes much difference but, hey, we appreciate it.
The film, which is being directed by Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Prisoners), will star Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista. Principal photography is scheduled to begin this July.
Blade Runner 2 remains at the moment an unofficial title, but we do know that the film is set several decades after the original which surely must mean that Deckard can’t be a replicant. Unless the plot of the movie is all about how he found a way to switch off his expiration date, and then age like a normal human being…
