The late Robert Jordan’s epic fantasy book series The Wheel Of Time is finally being turned into a television series, but there are no details about where or when yet.
The news appears kosher, though, as it comes straight from Jordan’s widow, Harriet McDougal. She made the announcement on the Wheel Of Time Google+ page.
“The following is a press statement that has been approved by the studio involved in contract negotiations:
“Update: Wanted to share with you exciting news about The Wheel of Time. Legal issues have been resolved. The Wheel Of Time will become a cutting edge TV series! I couldn’t be more pleased. Look for the official announcement coming soon from a major studio —Harriet”
The first book in the series, The Eye Of The World, was published in 1990. The series eventually ran to 14 volumes, although the last three were written by Brandon Sanderson from copious notes left by Jordan following his death.
