It’s been 50 years since the iconic Dr. No was first released in cinemas, starting off a franchise of James Bond movies that would last five decades, six actors playing Bond and twenty-three (and counting) official movie releases.  What a way to celebrate in style by building up to the release of Bond 23 – Skyfall – as well as having a fond look back on the legendary series that has brought so many cinematic memories. October 5th (the...

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters Trailer – “Well that’s new…”
In a world where fairytales like Snow White are given re-toolings and re-tellings, Paramount and MGM bring us a trailer for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. The film is influenced by the titular fairytale but it has been taken in an interesting, action-packed direction. Starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the brother and sister team, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters takes place 15 years after the fairytale we’re all familiar with. After...

Skyfall Theatrical Trailer

Skyfall Theatrical Trailer
“007 reporting for duty,” says Daniel Craig. The 23rd James Bond film Skyfall is now just a few months away and Sony Pictures have released a new theatrical trailer. The official (and kinda brief) synopsis originally told us that, “Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” In the trailer it’s revealed...

The Cabin in the Woods review

The Cabin in the Woods review
The Cabin in the Woods is quite a hard film to review. So the less you know, the more you’ll end up saying ‘What the f…’ The simplistic set-up has five friends deciding to take a trip to a secluded cabin in the woods. There’s...

Chloë Moretz cast in horror remake of Carrie
Last year came the news that MGM and Screen Gems were working on a remake of horror classic Carrie to be directed by Kimberly Peirce. It’s now been confirmed that Chloë Moretz has been cast in the lead role. The character of Carrie White appeared to be between Moretz and Haley Bennett. After winning the part, Moretz turned to Twitter where she announced the news, tweeting, “Never been so happy in my life! Thank you Kim Pierce and thank u...

The Cabin in the Woods Trailer and Poster

The Cabin in the Woods Trailer and Poster
A new trailer has been released for Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s The Cabin in the Woods. The simple title, as well as our knowledge from films such as The Evil Dead and Cabin Fever, suggests that we probably know just what kind of film this will be. The trailer features young guys and gals going off to a secluded cabin, and on the way they are even warned by a creepy old man about “getting back.” So far, so Sleepaway Camp. They obviously find...

Carrie remake in development

Carrie remake in development
Hollywood studios are running out of horror classics to re-work for a new generation, given that the last decade has already seen numerous remakes (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street). It looks as if the next film to potentially suffer at the hands of this studio craze is Carrie. MGM and Screen Gems are behind the remake, but before you shout out ‘sacrilege’, they have made an interesting move...
