GAME FACE: Happy 10th Birthday Okami!

Released for the PlayStation 2 on the 20th April 2006 in Japan and later in North America, Europe and Australia by the now extinct Clover Studios, Okami is an action-adventure/JRPG where you take on the role of wolf goddess: Amaterasu, in her quest to...

Just 3GB of free space on a Basic Wii U?
The latest Nintendo Direct video has Nintendo’s president Satoru Iwata spending a good portion explaining the capacity limitations of their upcoming Wii U… using glass jars and coloured beads! I kid you not! It’s probably to help make it easier to understand for those that have a little trouble knowing the difference between their megabytes and gigabytes. The Nintendo Wii arrived with 512MB of internal memory. In the long run it clearly was...

Ōkami HD Review

Ōkami HD Review
We were first introduced to Amaterasu the Sun Goddess and her watercolour world six years ago (or five for those of us in the UK), with the release of Ōkami on PS2. It was a game noted for its beauty and innovative design; players had the power to affect their environment with a simple brushstroke, from making a tree blossom to inking a sun in the sky. Mastering the Celestial Brush was the only way in which Amaterasu could hope to defeat the dragon...

WWE’13 Review

WWE’13 Review
The Attitude Era, viewed by many as one of the most memorable and loved era’s in professional wrestling history. It is an era that made household names of athletes such Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, HHH and Mick Foley to name but a few. However more importantly it helped the then WWF reclaim its number one spot back from its rivals WCW, a spot which the company from that point on never lost again. So fast forward nearly two...

UK legally enforces PEGI video games rating system
From today (July 30th), retailers can be prosecuted should they sell an 18, 16, or even a 12 PEGI rated video game to anyone who is underage. If they do, it can result in a fine of £5,000 and a jail sentence of up to six months. In an effort to protect young children from playing games they shouldn’t be, video games will now drop the BBFC certificate, for they will now be classified by the Pan European Game Information (PEGI). So what does this...

Advertised as a “Spring Clean” some games have seen huge discounts and are marked down as low as 98p. A reduction on pre-owned consoles began...

Videogames are not just for Christmas

Videogames are not just for Christmas
It’s that time of year when commercial breaks are made up of ads for perfume and stand-up comedy DVD’s, people flock to shopping centres like extras out of Dawn of the Dead, and videogame publishers release their big budget titles. Since Christmas tends to start earlier and earlier you’d think it was bi-annual, as shops tend to hang their decorations up before Halloween in an effort to put people ‘in the mood’. When it comes to videogames,...
