Ridley Scott’s Prometheus Review

Ridley Scott’s Prometheus Review
Yesterday I grabbed the popcorn, double sized drink, decided to leave the 3D glasses and sat down to watch Prometheus at my local cinema. I’m not sure if I have been consciously putting it off because of the mixed reviews or if I was just unsure about Ridley Scott’s return to the Alien universe. To say that this is a prequel, I believe, is unfair. I would simply say it was set before Alien. In the same way that Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels...

New Three Minute Prometheus Trailer Has Landed

New Three Minute Prometheus Trailer Has Landed
A new trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus premiered on Channel 4 earlier this evening (April 29th) during the commercial break of Homeland. Viewers were also told to post their reactions on Twitter, using the hashtag #areyouseingthis, with a selection of those tweets appearing during the second commercial break. Don’t worry if you missed the trailer, as shortly afterwards it officially arrived on YouTube, and is available below for your viewing...

Prometheus – New Full Theatrical Trailer

Prometheus – New Full Theatrical Trailer
The new theatrical trailer to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has now made its way online.  It’s also worth mentioning that a minute long IMAX trailer was leaked some hours earlier, and also features some new footage. 20th Century Fox did try and remove some instances of it, probably so that it doesn’t overshadow the release of this new trailer.  When the crew of the Prometheus is dispatched to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonisation,...

Prometheus Trailer

Prometheus Trailer
The first teaser trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has finally made its way online. Apple has been teasing the teaser trailer, with short reveals and snippets of Scott talking about Prometheus. Bizarrely he describes how the film is “all about everything,” which sounds equally vague and ambitious. Taking place within the same universe as Alien, the crew onboard the Prometheus discover a message that takes them to an unusual planet. Expecting...

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows New Second Trailer

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows New Second Trailer
Warner Bros have released a new second trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. As well as featuring more explosions and gunfire than a Die Hard marathon, there’s the now expected Baritsu and the sound of E.S Posthumous’ Unstoppable, as well as the unexpected cross dressing, face slapping and a glimpse of Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler. It doesn’t get any better than this.  When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead Sherlock Holmes...

Quad and stills from David Fincher’s Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
IT might be over three months away, but David Fincher‘s re-do of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is already generating a lot of debate. Will it be anywhere near as good as the Niels Arden Oplev original from 2009? It’s Fincher, people. He makes great movies. Is Daniel Craig the right star to play Mikael Blomkvist. And what about Rooney Mara as the complex Lisbeth Salander? Can she bring something different – and any more intense...

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Trailer

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Trailer
The character posters came just a few days ago, and now comes the first trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The trailer shows that we can expect more action in the way of Baritsu, cannon fire, explosions and pipe smoking, as well as an excess of slow motion shots. It’s all played to the sounds of E.S. Posthumus’ Unstoppable, reworked to epic effect. Holmes is also seen disguised as a woman, possibly referencing Arthur Conan Doyle’s...

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Character Posters

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Character Posters
As Harry Potter draws to a close, Warner Bros. are now turning their attentions to their next big franchise, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, with the release of two new character posters.  As well as featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson, take note of the figures in the background, for there is Jared Harris as Holmes’ nemesis Professor Moriarty and Noomi Rapace as Sim. They’ll no doubt receive their own posters in the...
