Over the weekend, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides managed to cross the billion-dollar mark in worldwide ticket sales. It has become only the eighth film to so. Already the highest grossing film of the year so far, it has currently earned $1,007.7 billion. US movie ticket site Fandango began selling tickets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 from June 10th, and it’s been reported that ticket sales for the 2D screenings are outselling the 3D version.
