The Wolverine review

The Wolverine review
This year we have been spoilt, and will continue to be spoilt, by the number of comic based movies hitting the big screen. Yet so far, they have struggled to live up to many of our expectations. Could that all be about to change as Hugh Jackman dons the iconic beard and Claws of Marvel’s wild man for the sixth time? In a word, yes. Wolverine fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as director James Mangold, and screenwriters Mark Bomback...

The report touches on the surge of comic book blockbusters, featuring clips from the upcoming films Man of Steel, The Wolverine and Thor: The Dark World. Helping giving their thoughts are Stan Lee, writer/director Joss Whedon and Chris Hewitt of Empire Magazine. One of the backdrops for this report is May’s MCM London Comic Con. Not only does it feature...

Josh Trank-directed Fantastic Four reboot coming 2015
The superhero genre of movies, not to mention reboots, shows no signs of stopping in the next few years. Outside of Disney’s stable of Marvel movies and Warner Bros.’ stable of DC movies building up their cinematic universes (and to ultimate crossover movies in The Avengers 2 and Justice League), one can’t forget that Fox also holds the rights of some Marvel characters and continues to make their own brilliant adaptations as well. Not long...

Famke Janssen to cameo in The Wolverine
According to wegotthiscovered.com Famke Janssen flew to Sydney last week to record a cameo for The Wolverine as Jean Grey (aka The Phoenix). This could be what she was hinting at a couple of weeks ago.  The Wolverine is a prequel of sorts to the main X-Men trilogy of films, so we’ll have to wait and see if this will be a re-introduction of her character or something else. But with Mark Millar now helping Fox to build a shared universe, could...

Mark Millar and a shared Fox/Marvel Universe
Mark Millar is currently enjoying his new position as Creative Consultant for Fox and their Marvel movies. They currently hold the rights to Fantastic Four, X-Men, Wolverine and Deadpool. According to Millar, “Fox have said that they want to build a cohesive universe and I’d personally like this to work in complement to the Marvel one. It would be cool if these universes didn’t contradict each other so if you went to see Spidey, The Avengers,...
