Xbox One Without Kinect Announced

Xbox One Without Kinect Announced
When the Xbox One was officially revealed and many of the details were let known to the public, one of the key issues involved having your Kinect plugged in to actually use the console. While that rule was soon abolished, it was too late to stop the shipping of the Xbox One without the Kinect.  However in a post on the official Xbox website, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, announced that the Xbox will be “Delivering More Choices for Fans”...

Microsoft’s Xbox One, Television and Steven Spielberg

Microsoft’s Xbox One, Television and Steven Spielberg
It has a name. The Xbox One. Hmm, it’s an odd one but it makes sense (sort of). Whereas the PS4 reveal seemed to be a lot of distractions and talk about social media, some of us were left wondering why we should bother buying the thing. Micosoft have taken a different route. Rather than creating new flashy gadgetry they’ve merely refined and improved upon what was there before.  Let’s look at the Wii U for a moment. Nintendo brought in a tablet...

Defiance Beta Hands On

Defiance Beta Hands On
SyFy’s new show Defiance will start airing in April 2013. So far it looks to be a fantastic show with a beautiful blend of survival, character profile development and big flashy battles. Who doesn’t like big flashy battles? Set during the aftermath of an interspecies war held on Earth, aliens and mankind have come to co-exist to survive on the war torn planet. With no main body of government, frontier cities such as Defiance are the closest thing...

Defiance. A new step for MMOs?

Defiance. A new step for MMOs?
When someone discusses Lord of the Rings, you no longer think of just some rather old books. There are games, movies, literature, spin-offs and plenty of cosplay. Tolkein’s books are no longer a title, but an entire universe, much in the same way we see Marvel nowadays, with the various characters in their own games, movies and of course comics. That’s what Defiance is about to become, not just a game, nor a TV series but a fully interactive...

Dragon’s Dogma sees you do battle against mythical creatures such as a Griffin, a Chimera and, of course, Dragons. You will lead a party of three pawns on your quests and experience different...

Five Things the Wii U Needs to Succeed

Five Things the Wii U Needs to Succeed
Nintendo is due to release its next home console, the Wii U, between June and December of 2012. Whilst this means the system is still at least four months away, and likely a good few months after that, now is a good time to look at the successes and failures of their past hardware releases and work out what it needs to be successful, both at launch and in the long term. Below, you will find what I think are the five most important things Nintendo...
