Kick-Ass sequel to shoot without Matthew Vaughn
A sequel to Kick-Ass is to set to start shooting this August, with a release expected for sometime in May 2013.
Deadline reports that the sequel is being headed by Universal Pictures. The studio only distributed the first film, which was partially funded by director Matthew Vaughn from out of his own pocket. Made on a production budget of $30 million, the film managed to gross $96 million worldwide.

When I sat down to watch Dragon Dynasty, I wasn’t sure what to expect. As a film that started life as a Sci-Fi channel original movie, with a budget of around one million dollars, I assumed I should probably go in expecting a cheesy B- movie that was enjoyable in the kind of way that you laugh at how bad it is, rather than as a serious film.
