Star Wars Episode VII Announced as Disney Purchase Lucasfilm
The Walt Disney Company have today announced that they have acquired Lucasfilm LTD. Yes, Disney own Lucasfilm! Wait just there though, as that isn’t the only announcement. Disney have also revealed that Star Wars Episode VII is to be made with a targeted release date of 2015 (yes the same year as Avengers 2, and The Justice League). I know it’s all a bit much, but hang still, there is more. Disney have also revealed that Episodes VIII and...

Tim Burton is an incredible moviemaker, with an extraordinary imagination. His ability to tell a story and then bring it to life with such uniquity has cemented him as one of the best in the business. With his latest creation; Disney’s Frankenweenie, opening this year’s London Film Festival, Mr Burton was in town, and I was lucky enough to catch up with him along with Producer; Allison Abbate, Executive Producer Don Hahn and cast members;...

Justice League movie aimed for 2015 after court victory
In a move probably unknown to most casual fans, plans for a Justice League movie involving Superman could finally be put into action with the knowledge it would see the light of day, thanks to a court ruling last Wednesday. The LA Times reports on how a court’s decision means that Warner Bros. continues to hold the rights to Superman, ruling against the heirs of Superman creators Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel. What this means is that Warner Bros....

The date given is 6th November 2015 which puts its release after the Avengers sequel, which comes out 1st May the same year. The Lone Ranger Trailer

The Lone Ranger Trailer
The Lone Ranger has been in development hell for a long time. The movie, a reimagining of the original Lone Ranger radio and film serials, was first announced back in 2002, and has since gone through many a rewrite and many a potential director. The wait is soon to be over, however, as the film has recently been picked up and has been in steady development under the direction of Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski using a script credited...

It’s a Kind of Magic: ‘Once Upon a Time’ Returns

It’s a Kind of Magic: ‘Once Upon a Time’ Returns
It may have been relegated to an out-of-the-way corner of Channel 5 for its UK airing, but ABC’s revisionist fairytale series Once Upon A Time was America’s highest rated new drama of last year, and it’s set to return to US screens on Sunday in a puff of magical purple smoke. In the first season we met stubbornly self-sufficient bail bondswoman Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) as she was sucked into the strange, small-town world of...

Wreck-It Ralph Theatrical Trailer – The Roger Rabbit of the Digital Age

Wreck-It Ralph Theatrical Trailer – The Roger Rabbit of the Digital Age
Wreck-It Ralph is an interesting concept for a movie. It’s a video game movie that for once looks quite appealing. It also looks to be some parts Who Framed Roger Rabbit, bringing together all sorts of video game characters from existing franchises together in one movie. But like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the licenced cameos are the icing on the cake, a story of which follows a fictional video game character and their journey to make something...

Why UK will miss out on Joss Whedon commentary for Avengers Assemble

Why UK will miss out on Joss Whedon commentary for Avengers Assemble
A tweet from Empire magazine revealed why UK residents will be missing out on the director’s commentary for the Avengers Assemble DVD/Blu-Ray. Disney told them that Joss Whedon simply recorded it too late to be included and they didn’t want to push back the release. Joss Whedon is understandably a rather busy man at the moment but is a little forward planning too much to ask? And this isn’t the only thing us in the UK have had to miss out on. If...
