Devil Kazuya returns to Tekken!

Earlier on Twitter, Katsuhiro Harada, Game director and leader of the Tekken project officially “leaked” a video regarding one of the series’ main characters, Kazuya Mishima,  in the upcoming release, Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

The video titled “Kazuya with Devil gene” (which can be seen here) shows Kazuya Mishima transforming in the middle of a fight and using his Devil powers to fire laser beams from the eye in his forehead and fly. His appearance changes as Devil wings grow out of his back, making him similar in design to Devil Jin. To accompany the video, Katsuhiro Harada simply tweeted the message, “Now, Kazuya can efficiently use the power of Devil Gene.”

Fans have been crying out for the return of Kazuya’s Devil powers since they were last seen in the original Tekken Tag Tournament game which was released in 1999 and judging from the enthusiastic replies to fans on their Twitter page, and now the inclusion of something that has been requested by many for the new title, it looks like the Tekken team are set on not disappointing their fanbase any time soon.
As the Tekken Tag series is not canon to the main Tekken storyline it will be possible for many more fan favourites to make their reappearances in the character roster as well.

Tekken Tag Tournament is due for release this Summer in arcades across Japan however the rest of the world will have to wait for its release as a date has yet to be confirmed. To whet your appetite take a look at the videos below for assorted game play and in game footage.
