Batman: Arkham City comic mini series announced!

The cover for BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY comics first issue

Following the recent announcement of the release date for the Batman: Arkham City game we have some more news for you regarding the gothic hero. It has been revealed that Batman: Arkham City will be getting its own comic book mini series for release later this year.

The comics will be penned by none other than Paul Dini, the writer behind both Batman Arkham games and Batman: The animated series. Illustrations for the comics will be drawn by Carlos D’anda, the concept artist for both Batman Arkham games. With Batman: Arkham City taking place a year after the events of Arkham Asylum, the comic book series will be bridging the gap between the two games before leading into Arkham City’s launch this autumn.

The comics will be available day-and-date digitally worldwide and will cost $2.99 each. Further to the main story in the miniseries, several eight-page digital-first interludes will be released in between the comics focusing on Batman’s enemies as they contend for power in the new Arkham City. These interludes will feature artwork from various artists with the story being written by Paul Dini. Each of the eight-page digital interludes will be sold for .99 cents and will eventually be released in print in the Batman: Arkham City collected edition.

Be sure to read the comic before you play the game in order to experience the story in the right order, and don’t miss out on the issue #1 variant cover which will utilise in-game graphics.

Batman: Arkham City will double ship in its first month with issues #1 and #2 due for release in May.
