Fox swings axe on Lie To Me…and others

FANS of Fox TV shows Lie To Me, Human Target and The Chicago Code are shedding a tear after the network announced it was cancelling them.

Human Target was the vehicle for Mark Valley but despite managing to stumble to a second season – and with a massive overhaul – but ratings never picked up and it was only a matter of time before it was canned.

Similarly, Lie To Me – which starred Tim Roth – struggled to gain viewers and after three seasons, Fox have called time on it.

Possibly, the most surprising announcement was the cancellation of The Chicago Code.

With a great cast, including Jennifer Beals and Delroy Lindo, it received a warm reception from critics with some favourable reviews.

However, despite having only been on screens since February in the US – it begins on Sky One here in the UK later this month – it has been decided it won’t go beyond one season.

Interestingly enough, fans of the shows have turned to Twitter to vent their anger at the moves by Fox.

Yet again, it’s ratings that count for a network regardless of what the critics think.
