Fringe Friday: Fringe Wins at the Saturn Awards!

Cortexifans rejoice! as Fringe takes home not only “Best Network TV Series” but Anna Torv (Olivia Dunham) and John Noble (Walter Bishop) took home for Fringe “Best Actress” and “Best Supporting Actor” awards respectively. Earlier in the Week, Australian actor John Noble, best known for his role in The Lord of the Rings, won Best Supporting Actor in the Critic’s Choice Awards, while his female co-star, Anna, was beaten to the Best Actress award by Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife).

Fringe, which has been renewed for it’s Fourth season (which is due to premiere on FOX on September 23rd at 9PM), has had an amazing year in regards to it’s storylines and character development, and these awards are richly deserved.

I myself, have only recently began to watch Fringe – I bought the DVDS, watched them in record time, and managed to catch up with season 3 before it was over – and it’s another one of Lost Creator’s J.J Abrams success stories.

The Saturn Awards, an official honour presented by The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, is in it’s 37th year. The academy itself, was founded in 1972 by film historian Dr. Donald A. Reed to honour and recognise Genre entertainment – the awards have expanded over the years from just the Horror genre and now recognizes excellence not just in film but also in TV and Home entertainment.

Now, before I go off into Fringe Verse! Here are the Saturn award  TV winners 🙂
