Russell Tovey to star in Sherlock

Russell Tovey is by no means a stranger to the BBC thanks to a variety of roles in popular shows including the award-winning comedy drama Gavin and Stacey, “anti-romantic comedy” Him & Her, and supernatural drama Being Human. The actor’s latest part sees him enter the world of Sherlock alongside the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) and Martin Freeman (Watson). He stars as Henry – a man who recruits the detective because of a traumatic childhood experience.

Fans can lookout for Russell in Sherlock‘s second episode, titled “The Hound of the Baskervilles“, which is ironic as he plays a Werewolf in the BBC3 drama, Being Human. The Hound of the Baskervilles has been penned by the show’s executive producer and writer, Mark Gatiss.

Russell confirmed his involvement in the show on Twitter earlier by saying, “Yep! I’m gonna be in BBC’s Sherlock… Official! X”, and he later went on to shed more light on the situation with the message, “Hound of the Baskervilles… And I am playing Henry… Good times x”.

The second season of Sherlock is currently well underway with filming in Cardiff.
