Will there be a United Cubedom?

The increase in K-Pop‘s popularity and in particular it’s international popularity is seemingly growing by the second. Over the past few months via the power of social media there has been a lot of demand and pleading requests by fans all around the world for their favourite K-Pop artists to come and perform in their home countries. All of this has lead to a lot of online petitions having been signed, a lot of trending topics on the subject have been flying around on Twitter and last and by no means least a lot of groups and events have been made on Facebook.  But what is the effect of this sudden outpouring of interest ? Well it would seem that that all of this activity is finally making an effect and impact on the music genre and in particular K-Pop.

Since the success of the SM Town Paris concert that was held at the Le Zenith earlier in June, which made a mark in the Korean Pop music industry; another South Korean music record label called Cube Entertainment have decided that they have plans to hold concerts in Europe and Brazil.

The record label has expressed that they are “aiming to hold the Cube concert in London” and that the date for this is potentially 19th November this year however this date is yet to be confirmed.

Cube Entertainment started in 2008 and are known to produced bands such as six piece boy band B2ST and five piece girl band 4Minute and solo artists such as G.NA (which is the stage name for female singer Gina Choi). The record label has a sister company called A-Cube Entertainment who have also released another girl band with seven members called A Pink, who made their debut in April on South Korean company Mnet and its show M! Countdown, this year.

On the 14th August, some of these music acts will be taking part in a concert called United Cube Concert starting in Seoul, Korea and will also be playing at the Nippon Budokan in Japan on the 25th August.

Hopefully, international tour dates for this concert will also be confirmed soon.
