The Woman in Black UK Poster and Trailer

The spooky UK quad poster has appeared for The Woman in Black. If the rampant facial hair isn’t enough to prove that Daniel Radcliffe has grown up and is moving on from Harry Potter, then check out the creepy trailer below, with its sinister rhyming narration.

Based on the novel by Susan Hill and adapted for the screen by Jane Goldman, it tells the story of lawyer Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe), who travels to a remote village on the coast of the UK to attend to the affairs of the recently deceased owner of Eel Marsh House. Working alone in the old mansion, Kipps slowly uncovers the town’s tragic secrets, linking the mysterious hauntings of The Woman in Black with the disappearance of local children.

The film is backed by Cross Creek Productions and Hammer Film Productions, whose recent relaunch has not gone down too well, given the lacklustre box office of Let Me In and straight-to-DVD release of The Resident in the US. However, The Woman in Black appears to be just the film Hammer has been waiting for.

Directed by James Watkins, The Woman in Black opens in the US on February 3rd 2012 and will be distributed a week later in the UK by Momentum Pictures on February 10th 2012.
