Tomb Raider Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Art Exhibit

With the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda and the Metroid series earlier this year, another game has made it into the anniversary list – Tomb Raider

This month marks the 15th year since the début of Tomb Raider, originally released in October 1996. Created by Toby Gard and Core Design, Tomb Raider first introduced the gaming world to action heroine Lara Croft. Combining ingenious puzzles with a compelling story and action-packed game play, the game proved to be such a hit that 15 years on, Tomb Raider is still loved by so many. Lara Croft has since become something of a cultural icon, with a few Guinness World Records to boot.

The digital art exhibition kicked off on the 4th October, and begins with a piece (as seen here) created by Andy Park, the artist on the original Tomb Raider comic book series. The exhibition will continue for a month, ending with a piece from Toby Gard, the creator of the Tomb Raider series.

All of the art can be viewed over the month’s exhibition via the Tomb Raider 15 Year Celebration page
