Games developer Ubisoft has teamed up with Nickelodeon to launch a TV series based on their hugely popular Raving Rabbids games. Expected to air sometime in 2013, Nickelodeon have commissioned 26 half hour episodes which will be aired across the main channel worldwide. Ubisoft has promised that the episodes will be every bit as wacky as the various Rabbid animations seen in the games, and on the viral YouTube parodies.

Nickelodeon is one of the world’s leading entertainment brands for children and families,” said Ubisoft’s Motion Pictures executive Jean-Julien Baronnet, on MCV UK. “Ubisoft is thrilled to be partnering with Nickelodeon to deliver unique television programming to its viewers.”

The Rabbids game series made its debut on the Wii in 2006. The game play involved completing a host of frantic, and rather quirky mini-games with up to three other players. The game, a spin-off from the Rayman series, proved to be a hit, and since then gamers have been treated to more releases on the Wii, DS and the Xbox 360’s Kinect platform.
