Ready, Letraset, Go!

Aspiring mangaka: pay attention! This month’s MCM Expo is shaping up to be an artistic one, thanks to two exciting opportunities.

Firstly, as a follow-up to our announcement in June, a Manga School has been confirmed, courtesy of Letraset. This awesome new event gives arty expo-goers the chance to be tutored by some of the top names in the industry, including professional illustrator Nana Li and Sweatdrop Studios‘ own Irina Richards and Morag Lewis. Topics covered will include Drawing Skills, Character Design, Creative Skills and Comic Development, and most classes last one hour – not much time out of your day if you have a busy schedule. Each hour-long class costs just £3, so you’ve got no excuse to pass it up, especially if you have a creative head on your shoulders!

Tickets will be available from the Manga School stand (just behind the Letraset stand) and are served on a first-come first-serve basis, so make sure you get there early if you want to attend! In the meantime, have a look at the schedule on the information page to help you decide which classes you might like to go to, what materials you’ll need for them and other important info.

And that’s not all. The upcoming MCM Expo art competition is suitably Halloween-y this month, giving people the chance to explore the dark sides of their imagination with the theme: ‘Ghouls, goblins and mad scientists…oh my!‘ Winners will receive over £110 worth of Letraset products and, as usual, entries can be pre-made or drawn on the day. Interested? Check out further details here and get spooky!
