Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows New Second Trailer

Warner Bros have released a new second trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. As well as featuring more explosions and gunfire than a Die Hard marathon, there’s the now expected Baritsu and the sound of E.S Posthumous’ Unstoppable, as well as the unexpected cross dressing, face slapping and a glimpse of Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler. It doesn’t get any better than this.

When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) believes Professor James Moriarty (Jared Harris) is the one behind his death, describing him as, “the most formidable criminal mind in Europe.” The clues bring Holmes to a gentlemen’s club. It’s here that he encounters Dr. John Watson (Jude Law), celebrating his last night of bachelorhood before marrying his fiancée Mary Morston (Kelly Reilly), and a fortune teller named Sim (Noomi Rapace), who knows more than she’s telling. Together they attempt to put a stop to Moriarty’s plans.

Incorporating elements from Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories (with cross dressing possibly referencing The Mazarin Stone), the inclusion of Moriarty indicates that the film is inspired by the story The Final Problem.
