CNBLUE & FT Island To Break Into The UK 2012

With the wave of Kpop fans growing in size daily in the UK, it’s not too much of a surprise that entertainment groupFNC” have joined the ranks of wanting to promote their artists worldwide. ‘M-Live’ is a concert recently created by CJ E&M, which plans to bring solo and joint concerts by Korean artists overseas, allowing them in to the international music market.

Manager Ahn Seck Jun of CJ E&M stated, “we plan to introduce not only idol bands but also various genre bands to Europe and other countries.” With the release of this new concert, the four-membered CNBLUE and five-membered FT Island are set to expand their music careers in Europe. Currently the bands are preparing for a concert in the UK and France as early as next year. With the Kpop wave currently focused on dance music, having bands such as CNBLUE and FT Island expanding into the European music market is a significant step.

Han Sung Ho, the CEO of FNC and management agency of CNBLUE and FT Island, shared his thoughts: “Although there is pressure to extend our career overseas, right into the home of band music, on the other hand, I actually did expect this could happen. When I look at our band seniors, I am confident that Korean band music is not at all behind the world-class standard.

CJ E&M recently held a press conference for ‘M-Live’ at Times Square in Yongdeungpo, Seoul on November 2nd, with six music entertainment companies participating: Cube Entertainment (G.NA, B2ST, 4MINUTE), Star Empire (Z:EA, Jewelry), Amoeba Culture (Dynamic Duo), FNC Music (CNBLUE, FT Island), Jungle Entertainment (Drunken Tiger, Leessang) and J-Tune Entertainment (MBLAQ).

With this new brand of concerts hopefully coming to the UK, it seems that every genre of music will be covered. This past week has already seen SMEnt‘s “SHINee” attend the London Korean Film Festival, selling tickets for a mini concert to 800 people in just under a minute. Earlier today it was reported that YGEnt’s Big Bang” arrrived in London, ready to make another trip to Belfast due to being nominated for the title of “World Wide Act” at the MTV EMA Awards. Also “United Cube” and KBS Music Bank Kpop Festival Paris” concert tickets went on sale recently, and although there are still some left, you might want to be quick! This is definitely a sign that Kpop is getting bigger.
