Naruto Franchise Milestone and tour announced!

Love him or hate him, there is no doubt that the Ninja from the village hidden in the leaves, Naruto, is a popular little fellow and this has been further proved this week with the news from Namco Bandai that the games based on him have amassed over 10 million units!

When broken up into regions the numbers breakdown as follows:

North America-4.3million

Japan And Asia-1.9million

In terms of actual game sales, the biggest selling Naruto title is Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, which has sold 1.02 million copies for PS3 and 644,000 on Xbox 360 making a total 1.66million copies in total.

Not bad for a game franchise that is based on a Manga/Anime series. To celebrate this news and the release of the next title in the franchise, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM Generations, publishers Namco Bandai are going to be doing a global tour. The tour will include developer talk sessions, tournaments and other yet to be announced events, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Naruto themed cosplay element added to the tour in some form.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM Generations is released on Xbox 360 and PS3 February 23rd in Japan and March in the North America and Europe. To buy your Naruto fix on DVD then visit Manga UK here.
