Tekken Tag Tournament 2 1vs1 and 1vs2 modes confirmed

Leader of the Tekken project, Katsuhiro Harada, has revealed that Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will feature 1vs1 and 1vs2 modes as well as the already shown 2vs2, tag style gameplay. A new trailer has also been released following Harada’s reveal which shows pair play mode – a mode which allows four players to fight at once, each controlling a different character.

Harada describes TTT2’s 1vs1 mode as “Classic VS mode.” 1vs2 is shown to literally be one fighter against two opponents, or 1vs2 lifebars, but Harada assures us that it’s balanced.

The original Tekken Tag Tournament game was released on the Playstation 2 in 2000 and featured a lone end boss with one lifebar against your two, but her health recovered without the need to switch characters (obviously).

It is Unknown (excuse the pun) exactly how it will work in TTT2, but at a guess this would be it.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but the trailer reveals that the game will be coming out some time this year.
